Restore the Sound: Walton Band Electronics Fund

Over the past several seasons, Walton Band has continued to ask more and more from an electronics setup that is simply showing its age. Much of the technology supporting our marching band and indoor percussion programs is more than 10 years old, and recent failures have made painfully clear that the current system is no longer reliable enough for the level our students are performing.

For these ensembles, electronics are not an optional add-on. Synth sound, samples, amplification, and mixing are all part of the musical production itself. When the system fails, students lose critical moments they have spent countless hours preparing.

The Walton Band Board is moving forward immediately with the most urgent upgrades so our students and staff are not put in that position again. At the same time, we are launching Restore the Sound, a broader campaign to strengthen Walton Band for the seasons ahead.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support critical electronics upgrades and longer-term improvements. While the primary focus of this campaign is electronics, a portion of funds may also be used for essential repairs to Big Blue, our beloved 53-foot band trailer, including needed roof repairs. We want to be fully transparent that maintaining Big Blue is part of protecting the equipment and infrastructure that support our band programs.

These investments will help Walton build a system that is more reliable, more flexible, and better able to support student performances.

Every gift helps protect the student experience, support our staff, and ensure that Walton performers have equipment and infrastructure worthy of their effort and talent.
